L’association de cristallographie d’Aix-Marseille (ACAM) organise sa quatrième journée scientifique le 20 juin 2025 à l’hexagone sur le campus de Luminy intitulée : Jeunes cristallographes en action.
Le cristal est un sujet fondamental en recherche et dans la vie quotidienne, puisque la majorité des objets que nous utilisons et qui nous entourent contiennent – et fonctionnent avec – des cristaux (roches, électronique, médicaments, métaux…). Leur étude – croissance, caractérisation, propriétés – est le domaine de la cristallographie.
L’objectif de cette journée est donc de présenter et vulgariser (différentes communautés seront présentes) des travaux en cours ou récents en relation avec la cristallographie, quelle que soit la discipline concernée sur des aspects fondamentaux ou appliqués. Tous les domaines scientifiques, mais également artistiques, sont concernés (chimie, physique, biologie, patrimoine…). La cristallographie peut être la discipline majoritaire du travail ou n’en concerner qu’une partie (par exemple comme outil de caractérisation pour présenter des structures moléculaires).
La matinée sera consacrée aux présentations orales des jeunes chercheurs (doctorant, postdoctorants, jeunes recrutés), l’après-midi sera axée sur des échanges et retours d’expériences sur l’orientation et les possibilités d’avenir. Cette demi-journée sera animée par d’anciens doctorants (locaux et nationaux) qui travaillent aujourd’hui dans le milieu industriel ou académique.
Les intervenant sont invités à préparer leur supports en anglais et adapter la langue de présentations à l’audience (français ou anglais).
La participation des doctorants pourra être valorisée, via la procédure de formation hors catalogue, selon le règlement de chaque École Doctorale. Une attestation de participation sera fournie aux participants et aux intervenants.

The Aix-Marseille Crystallography Association (ACAM) is organizing its fourth scientific day on 20 June 2025 at the Hexagone on the Luminy campus: Young crystallographers in action.
Crystals are a fundamental subject in research and in everyday life, since most of the objects we use and that surround us contain – and function with – crystals (rocks, electronics, medicines, metals, etc.). The study of crystals – their growth, characterisation and properties – is the domain of crystallography.
The aim of this day is therefore to present and popularise (different communities will be present) current or recent work related to crystallography, whatever the discipline concerned, on fundamental or applied aspects. All fields of science, as well as the arts, are involved (chemistry, physics, biology, heritage, etc.). Crystallography may be the main discipline of the work or only part of it (for example, as a characterisation tool for presenting molecular structures).
The morning will be devoted to oral presentations by young researchers (PhD students, post-docs, new recruits), while the afternoon will focus on discussions and feedback on career choices and future opportunities. This half-day session will be led by former doctoral students (local and national) who are now working in industry or academia.
Speakers are invited to prepare their presentations in English and to adapt the language of presentation to the audience (French or English).
The participation of doctoral students may be rewarded via the off-catalogue training procedure, in accordance with the regulations of each Doctoral school. A certificate of attendance will be provided to participants and speakers.
